Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

Evidence suggests that a combination of aerobic, strength and flexibility exercises will improve functional capacity, decrease shortness of breath and improve quality of life and exercise tolerance in people with COPD.

Cystic Fibrosis

Research has shown that those individuals with cystic fibrosis who attain higher levels of aerobic fitness report feeling better and have a higher overall quality of life.

Physical activity may improve mucus clearance, and possibly even delay decreases in pulmonary function. Increases in strength and endurance have also been shown to assist in improving the quality of life of people with cystic fibrosis.
